If you grew up listening to soukous and other electrifying African music like I did, you were quite surprised on first listen of J.Cole’s “Can’t Get Enough” track at the familiarity of the beat. For a while I could not figure out where I had heard the sound. Well, it turns out, it is none other than the Guinean band, Balla et ses Balladins 1980 hit song ‘Paulette’.
